ABOUT Hermosa
Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Specialist Technology Support is responsible for providing frontline technical support to end-users, ensuring smooth hardware and software operation, enabling business users to fulfill their daily tasks without technical interruptions. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance for computer and software related issues. This role is a Permanent position based at the Hermosa Project site, near Patagonia, Arizona.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
• Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software, and application issues.
• Resolve user-reported issues both remotely and on-site, as necessary.
• Install, configure, and update software and hardware.
• Maintain and troubleshoot devices including computers, printers, and phones.
• Maintain an inventory of installations, licenses, and configurations.
• Document internal procedures and ensure adequate reporting of issues and resolutions.
• Train users on the applications and hardware they use regularly.
• Create user guides and FAQs for common issues.
• Assist with special projects, providing support for new systems or applications deployment.
• Technology Governance, Risk & Compliance for Service Management
• Provide input to developing guidelines, procedures & standards
• Executing sourcing strategy as defined by Supply
• Managing and building working relationships with end-users, vendors, and contractors.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
• 1-3 years of experience in technical support, IT support, or a related role
• Relevant Service Management / Technology certifications
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification is advantageous
• Proven knowledge of platform thinking
• Experience with Windows Operating Systems and Apple Devices
• Demonstrable experience in setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and networking equipment
• Technical skills and knowledge of service management practices and lifecycle
• Knowledge of service methodologies, delivery and integration processes and procedures
• Ability to strike a balance between customer needs and technical capability
• Ability to be flexible and to change course, when needed, to find new ways of achieving goals
• High emotional awareness and strong interpersonal skills
• Passionate about making a difference
• The ability to think carefully about the likely effects on others of words, actions, appearance and mode of behaviour
• Mining experience is advantageous
