ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, DIDO to our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury 35 minutes – and other nearby scenic communities.  


As the Specialist Residue Deposition, you will be responsible for providing problem solving and execution support to the BRDA Operations & Construction teams across a wide range of areas. Working closely with the Superintendent to actively manage BRDA performance, the Specialist Residue Deposition is integral to driving business improvement and contractor management standards to ensure works are completed in a safe and efficient manner in line with the Residue Deposition & Construction plans. 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 
Deposition 
•    Responsible for the development of and adherence to the 10yr Residue Deposition Plan (RDP) in line with the Residue Deposition Strategy (RDS).
•    Responsible for development and review of internal documents (OMS, Inspection templates, SWI’s) to ensure compliance with relevant standards (South32 Dams Standard, ANCOLD, ICOLD, GISTM).
Dewatering
•    Planning and execution of the annual BRDA Dewatering Strategy.
•    Provide input into the design and construction of dewatering infrastructure in consultation with the BRDA Engineering & Construction teams.
Dust Suppression
•    Planning and execution of the annual BRDA dust suppression campaign.
•    Manage dust suppression contractors in line with the Contractor Management standards and contract KPI’s.
 
ABOUT YOU 
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

•    A minimum of five (5) year’s supervisory experience in either a processing, civil construction, or mining environment. 
•    Experience in the Operation and/or construction of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF).
•    Experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders such as Engineering, corporate governance, and government departments desirable.

Qualifications for this position are:
•    Preferred - Qualification in Civil Engineering, Tailings Management, Civil Construction, Project Management and/or Soil Mechanics.
