ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position that is DIDO daily, from our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.  This is a shift engineering role with shifts of 12 hours on day shift only with a friendly roster pattern (4/5/5/4/5/5) which also attracts a shift allowance.

As the Process Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support, direction setting and governance responsibility for the refinery process to safely achieve the budgeted physicals. You will provide expert advice to operations and participate in formulating plans to improve on HSEC, production and cost.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Support operational teams to understand risks and controls
• Identifies opportunities to maximise plant capacity and efficiency within the documented capability and strategies; as well as identifies and implements projects/trials for achieving Block Flow Diagram and Key Value Drivers.
• Develop, implements and improve operating strategies and guidelines
• Ensures operational compliance with production Operating Standards, Procedures and Work Instructions

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively to deliver great outcomes
• Preferably, several years’ experience in mineral processing ideally with exposure to alumina refinery unit operations, their performance metrics and troubleshooting
• Self-motivated to learn, high levels of initiative to use systems and processes to identify and action plant deviations
• Demonstrated ability to develop and review process design documents and process improvements
• Background in unit operations or equipment which may include pumps, comminution, filtration, precipitation, evaporation

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Degree in Chemical, Process or Metallurgical Engineering
