ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position, DIDO from our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.  

Under direct supervision of the Senior Mechanical Engineer, as Mechanical Engineer, you will support a team of internal Mechanical Engineers and external Engineering Service Providers to accomplish the Design Services Team mandate by:

• Development and delivery of engineering designs to achieve stakeholders’ requirements for both Capital and Operational projects.
• Perform engineering studies and provide execution and commissioning support
• Own and maintain mechanical focused Worsley’s Technical Standards and Specifications.

• Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders in respect to piping, valving, and mechanical plant queries.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• Several years’ experience working in a Mechanical Engineering role within a heavy industry environment or engineering consultancy
• Extensive knowledge of Mechanical Engineering design methodologies, tools and software.
• Significant practical knowledge of piping systems and engineering.
• Knowledge and experience with Management of Engineering Change.
• Knowledge of relevant AS/NZS Standards.
• Demonstrated understanding of the requirements for Engineering Quality Control Systems.

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering to a standard recognised by Engineers Australia.
