The Role

As the Data and Integration Architect you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the target-state reference architecture for the South32 business reference model.  In doing so:

  • Describe the high-level business processes associated with data\integration architecture
  • Create a target-state digital reference architecture for data\integration
  • Define the roadmap from current-state to target-state delivery for all data and integration patterns
  • Build the cost model to achieve target-state and describe the benefits to be realised
  • Periodically review and refine the target-state reference architecture for the data\integration segment against updates to the enterprise digital architecture and/or changes in the business

Your goal is to define a clear data\integration reference architecture that can clearly guide solution architectures for specific initiatives/projects.  It will also be a key guide for the Operations Technology Leads as they provide input to the annual LOOP process for their operation.

 

 Key responsibilities include:

  • As the Data and Integration Architect you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the target-state reference architecture for the South32 business reference model. 
  • Describe the high-level business processes associated with data\integration architecture
  • Create a target-state digital reference architecture for data\integration
  • Define the roadmap from current-state to target-state delivery for all data and integration patterns
  • Build the cost model to achieve target-state and describe the benefits to be realised
  • Periodically review and refine the target-state reference architecture for the data\integration segment against updates to the enterprise digital architecture and/or changes in the business
  • Your goal is to define a clear data\integration reference architecture that can clearly guide solution architectures for specific initiatives/projects.  It will also be a key guide for the Operations Technology Leads as they provide input to the annual LOOP process for their operation
  • Liaise with the operational and functional groups to socialise and roll out the platforms and associated architectures
  • Action business as usual activities (BAU’s) such as
    • reviews of vendor provided solutions
    • technology alignment for new solutions as part of solution reviews
    • vendor evaluations and application evaluations
    • cross functional participation in key transformation programs

 

Qualification & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology,
  • TOGAF certification
  • Demonstrated experience as a data and integration architect. Must be able to articulate sound approaches to creating the architecture of a data and integration platform
  • Demonstrated experience in designing a data architecture based around a specific tool sets such as provided by Microsoft, AWS, Google or Oracle
  • Demonstrated experience in designing an integration architecture and patterns based around specific tool sets such as provided by Dell Boomi, Mulesoft or Informatica
  • Technology skills in Big Data, Data Strategy, Enterprise Integrations, Cloud & API eco system and IOT
  • Demonstrated experience in developing architectures with tools such as iServer or equivalent
  • Background in large transformation projects with experience in leading teams and advising on best practices and fit for purpose frameworks in the Data & Integration space
